If you were to hazard a guess at what the latest is in men’s fashion, it would come as a surprise that the answer is girdles for men. And yet, if you look at the circumstances of where we are in society, it does make sense.
Some men are familiar with support underwear such as a back brace for men or one for sports. However, the thought of wearing girdles for fashion purposes might be new for some. That is not to say this type of underwear will be worn on the outside. No, girdles for men are meant to be worn discreetly but it does make men look slimmer and sleeker so their regular clothes can glide smoothly over top. This is why store mannequins always look so good wearing the clothes – they don’t have any bulges or love handles to worry about. With this type of underwear on, men won’t have such worries either.
Undoubtedly, some men might be prejudice with regards to such underwear. They might think that girdles are for women only. However, these girdles are specifically made for men with his anatomy in consideration.
Another thing for men to keep in mind is that we are in the twenty-first century. Men wearing girdles is considered tame since it is worn discreetly underneath. If you don’t tell, no one would know. This is strictly different from the more flamboyant men out there who wear such things as tights, sarongs, mascara, eyeliner and nail polish. Those are way more risque.
Finally, the acceptance of men wearing girdles is widening. We have young metrosexuals who are embracing the underwear because it makes them look skinnier in their clothing. Then there is the baby boomer segment of society to appreciate the extra back support a girdle gives them.
